When it launched, the OnePlus 6T was marketed with two new features called Nightscape and Studio Lighting in the camera. According to OnePlus, Nightscape uses AI to enhance the photos taken in low-light conditions and the Studio Lighting feature augments the minute details in an image. The company has now announced the OxygenOS Open Beta 6 for OnePlus 6, which makes the smartphone inherit these features from the OnePlus 6T. “Here is the latest open beta build for OnePlus 6, some of the most exciting features that we introduced on the OnePlus 6T are now available on OnePlus 6!” the company said in a blogpost. The beta update also adds new navigation gestures, improved UI for “About phone”, and improvements for taking screenshots. The beta also adds the November Android security patch to the phone. Further, there is a new Google quick search box design, while the Gallery will gets an improved zooming gesture and magnification. Like most of their hardware, the OnePlus 6T and the OnePlus 6 have the same camera and this could be a reason why these feature may work seamlessly on both the phones. The smartphones have a 16MP Sony IMX 519 primary sensor with 1.22um pixel pitch and f/1.7 aperture lens, combined with a secondary 20MP Sony IMX 376K with 1.0um pixel size and f/1.7 aperture lens. Both lenses are also electronically and optically stabilised and they offer a 25mm focal length. You can read our analyses of the camera-centric features here.
