Sony PS5 shatters console sales records for a single quarter in 2023, beats out its predecessor

It’s been a slow start for the PS5, but if the sales figures for the last quarter are any indication, the console could be well on its way to being one of the best-selling of all time. Sony faced a ton of problems when it launched the PS5 in the middle of a global pandemic with chip shortages and the like contributing to slow sales and the lack of physical consoles. But, once the situation was a bit better and the shortages were plugged, the PS5 emerged as the winner as far as this generation of consoles goes.

PS5 smashes PS4 record of consoles sold in 3 months

In just three short months, the PS5 has allegedly outsold even the PS4 for that period of time. It has basically destroyed the PS4’s record at the same time. A consolidated financial result report by Sony suggests that the PS5 has sold about 6.3 million units in just the first quarter of 2023. That’s about 2 million consoles sold in a month. If these numbers are true then the PS5 is well on its way to becoming one of the best-selling consoles of all time, up there with the Nintendo Switch, Wii and PS2.

But, if there’s one thing that the PS4 has over its successor is that it sold over 40 million units over its life-cycle and it’s still being purchased in various markets across the world. There have been rumours of a PS5 Pro and the like, but with how the PS5 is going right now, it would not be a smart idea to introduce an upgrade to a console that is already quite powerful. On a personal note, I’ve been gaming much more on my PS5 than I was on my PS4. The blazing-fast SSD and ease of gaming make it much easier for me to just jump into a quick game.

So, what do you guys think of the PS5 selling about 6.8 million units in just three months?

iMessage works on Windows 11 devices: Heres how

Microsoft has been bringing in quite a lot of upgrades recently, including a lot of AI tools to use. Some of those Windows upgrades aim to connect Android and iOS devices more seamlessly.

Microsoft's Phone Link, which was named as Your Phone app during its launch, allows Android devices to build a connection with Windows. Through this feature it's easy to send or receive files, also text and call and have control over the phone's music without touching your phone when you are on your laptop.

But this wasn't available for iPhones, which is now going to change in May, 2023. Microsoft will be launching Phone Link iPhone support which will further allow iPhones to have the same advantage that the Android users only had access to. For this the Link to Windows app for iOS is needed.

Windows 11

This change will include iMessage support with Windows 11. But there are limitations to it. This new feature will allow you to receive and send texts but a lot of other features of iMessage won't be possible, like group chats, sending images or videos and also conversation history won't be available.

For iMessage to run properly it is very important to connect the iPhone to the Windows 11 device using Bluetooth. A lot of macOS users don't like using it because of complications but they use it because it makes calling and texting easier for them when they are on their laptop swamped with work. But hopefully, the introduction of this in Windows will give them a ray of hope.

Like macOS, probably Windows will not be able to get all features of iMessage perfectly. But, this is just the first step and as time passes Windows has better plans with iPhones the way they have strived better in terms of Android.

With more Apple devices launching very soon, this feature is going to be really useful for iOS users and especially the ones who don't want to use their phone when they are busy on their laptop and also miss nothing,

Apple working on emotion measuring tech, health services with advanced AI

In the area of health and wellness, Apple Inc. is renowned for its revolutionary products and services. The business has a history of developing tools and apps that aid in tracking health and even saving lives. Apple is currently expanding the capabilities of AI once more.

According to reports, the corporation is working on technologies for measuring emotions as well as a new health counselling service powered by artificial intelligence. With the help of these new capabilities, users will be able to take a more detailed and individualised strategy for their health and well-being.

Apple is ready to launch a new coaching service codenamed Quartz, says Bloomberg report. The service will primarily work on motivating users to exercise and prompt healthy eating habits and sleep cycles. The fundamental idea of working on this program is to establish a combination of machine learning and data to build a personalised training program for individual users. However, these announcements are yet to be released and can be anticipated in the coming week.

Also read: iOS 17 will support app sideloading on iPhone, thanks to EU law

Apple has announced plans to create an innovative health coaching service as part of a larger initiative to integrate health features into all of its products, including the Apple Watch. The business's most recent initiatives in this regard include bringing health software to the iPad and adding capabilities that can help users with eyesight issues.

Apple

However, Apple's new internal service will have a monthly cost and have an app of its own. The effort is being led by a number of Apple departments, including the company's services division, health, Siri, and AI teams. Although the service is now scheduled for next year, it could eventually be cancelled or delayed.

A version of Apple's iPhone health software for the iPad is allegedly also being planned, enabling users to examine their health information, such as ECG findings, in an expanded format. Later this year, iPadOS 17 is expected to include this modification. In medical facilities, wherein tablets are already commonly used, the iPad's rendition of the health app is intended to improve the app's appeal.

According to the source, Apple may update its health app this year with additional features for treating vision disorders, including nearsightedness and tracking emotions. Users of the emotion tracker's first iteration will be able to record their moods, provide answers to questions about their days, and monitor their progress over time. Apple plans to utilise algorithms in the future to infer a user's mood from their speech, their written words, and other information on their devices.

In June, during Apple's annual Worldwide Developers Conference, it's expected to introduce a new iPad app as well as tools for controlling vision and emotion. The training service won't be revealed this year, though. The company's planned mixed-reality headgear, which includes features like meditation and an optimised variant of Apple's Fitness+ fitness service, will also play a part in its well-being and health agenda.

WhatsApp rolls out new features for groups and companion devices

The most demanded feature is now available, along with a few more new features on the chat platform WhatsApp, owned by Meta. Up to five phones can each utilize the same WhatsApp account.

Similar to how you connect WhatsApp on web browsers, tablets, and desktops, you connect every additional phone. Your messages, media, and phone conversations will all remain end-to-end encrypted since each paired phone establishes its own separate connection to WhatsApp.

Additionally, as a security measure, you will be immediately signed out of all partner devices if your main phone is dormant “for a long period." The global rollout of this update is now underway for all users. The rollout will be finished "in the upcoming weeks."

Also read: WhatsApp ‘Keep in Chat’ feature will let you bookmark messages: Here’s how

In addition, rather than having to scan a QR code, you may input your phone number on WhatsApp Web to get a one-time code that you can apply on your phone to enable device connection. Currently, this is just available on WhatsApp Web, but "more companion devices in the future" are promised.

According to reports, WhatsApp is introducing a group feature for group administrators to allow them to control how they authorize new members. It surely helps group admins make sure that only desirable individuals are added to the group.

WhatsApp features

When this feature is activated, new members must be accepted by a group admin ahead of them joining the group, regardless of whether they received a group invite link, by looking at the "Pending participants" area, claims WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp tracker.

Also read: iPhone users can make their own WhatsApp stickers now, very simple to do

When the feature is turned off, anybody is able to join a group by clicking an invite link without contacting the admin privately. According to the study, in the past, this posed a severe problem for community administrators because it may result in unwanted messages asking the administrator to be included in the subgroup that they manage.

WhatsApp is also developing a brand-new one-to-many mechanism for information dissemination dubbed "Channels" in the meantime. Users will find it simple to get helpful updates from the sources they select with the channels function. The function is currently being created and scheduled to be included in the next app version.

In order to accommodate channels, WhatsApp plans to change the Status tab to "Updates" in this portion of the app. A WhatsApp Channel is a confidential tool where users' phone numbers and other details are always kept secret.

Indian gaming companies slam Google Play Stores 30 commission on in-game purchases

It looks like the Google Play Store is facing a bit of pushback from various CEOs from Indian gaming companies. Their main gripe with Google is the 30% commission that Google charges on in-game purchases. Essentially how it works is that when you purchase an in-game weapon or skin, you will be directed to the Google Pay page which automatically charges a 30% fee on every purchase. Various CEOs from some of India’s largest gaming companies have come out and slammed the commission with some even that while measures like this could work in a country like the US, Indian companies need that revenue to reinvest in the industry.

Indian game developers slam Google’s 30% charge on in-game purchases

The country’s gaming infrastructure is only a fraction of what it’s like in other countries but greed trumps all as Google is looking to squeeze every drop of blood out of Indian gaming companies. Think about it in this way, if you want to buy a product that costs ₹70, you’ll be paying ₹100 for that same product. Why, you ask? Well, Google’s got to grease its pockets as well. From that ₹100, the developers only receive ₹70. These complaints were discussed on a panel which took place during Consilience 2023. The event was organised by the Law and Technology Society in partnership with the All India Game Developers’ Forum.

In fact, even Seas Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India called for more innovation by the government. He also stated the importance of thriving in a free market as opposed to a monopoly set up by Google. These topics as well as others were discussed at Consilience 2023. The conference also discussed various issues such as online gaming regulations, taxation of gaming and new business opportunities that gaming companies can leverage.

What do you guys think about this 30% commission that Google charges?

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Watch S6, Galaxy Tab S9 launching in July 2023

Samsung has become accustomed to releasing its foldable smartphones and a fresh wave of items in August, including smartwatches and headphones. But a rumour came around that the South Korean tech giant will conduct its second Unpacked event of the year early, which could have an impact on when the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are released.

According to speculation, Samsung's upcoming significant Unpacked announcement event will occur in the final week of July. Given that the corporation has often had its second announcement event of each year in August, this is earlier than you might have anticipated.

Also read: Samsung opens up pre-booking of its latest Neo QLED 2023 series of TVs

Holding the aforementioned in mind, let's remember that the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5, as well as the Galaxy Watch S6 and Galaxy Tab S9 series, will all be unveiled at this event. Anticipate that subsequent Unpacked to occur on July 25, 26, or 27 because the firm often schedules its events for the middle of the week.

Galaxy Z Fold 5

It won't make much of a difference that the unveiling is a few weeks or so earlier than it was last year, but it could be a sign that Samsung is aware of the growing competition it is facing in some markets, such as the foldable space, and wants to respond a little earlier than it otherwise would have to the N2 Flips and Pixel Folds of the world. Of course, all of this is just conjecture but plausible speculation if we do say so ourselves.

Also Read: Samsung Galaxy S24 could have EV grade battery enhancements among new features

Although the reason for Samsung's decision to postpone the launch date was not explained, it may be due to the fierce foldable competition in the sector. In addition to the recent foldable phone releases from Chinese companies Vivo and Oppo, Motorola is also expected to introduce the Razr+ and 'Razr Lite' in June. Google is also expected to reveal the Pixel Fold during I/O 2023 in May.

Samsung might not be concerned with the limited stock of Motorola's Razr 2023 or Vivo's X Flip in important markets. However, given that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is rumoured to be delivered in July, the fully folding Google Pixel Fold might overshadow it.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Tipped to Debut With a Larger 48-Megapixel Sony Sensor: All Details

Apple is likely to bring camera upgrades to the iPhone 15 Pro Max model this year. According to a tipster, Apple is said to pack a new 48-megapixel Sony sensor on the upcoming flagship, which is almost 1-inch in size. Last year's iPhone 14 Pro Max came with a Sony IMX803 48-megapixel sensor on the rear.

from Gadgets 360 https://ift.tt/Z34Soda

iPhone 15 Pros camera may be different than the iPhone 15 Pro Max: Heres why

Last year Apple came up with the iPhone 14 and now people are awaiting the launch of the iPhone 15 series. If you’ve read our iPhone 14 review, you’ll remember how it introduced significant new changes in features, especially its camera capabilities.

Earlier leaks revealed that iPhone 15 Pro might come with a periscope lens for optical zoom. But now it has been revealed through newer leaks that it is applicable only for iPhone 15 Pro Max model. The Max could also sport a 48MP Sony camera with a larger sensor than the previous iPhone models.

So, this significant leak suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro might not be as professional and advanced as the iPhone 15 Pro Max model’s camera prowess. Let's look into the features that the leaks suggest for the upcoming iPhone.

iPhone 15 Pro vs iPhone 15 Pro Max: Reported differences

iPhone 15

All iPhones have had cameras which always were a grade above its predecessor and people go head over heels over any new iPhone’s camera quality. But Apple has never really chased big technical specs as a huge differentiator of a new device launch. This is a result of Apple choosing stable performance over innovation and hence it waits for the new technology to mature before it implements on any of its devices.

As per rumours, that’s not how it's going to work for iPhone 15 Pro Max. Both the Pro and Pro Max models would look majorly identical but the difference would lie in features such as the camera and RAM.

According to recent developments, the iPhone 15 Pro model won't have much of a difference or extra features from the standard model.

However, as mentioned already, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could feature a Sony IMX903 sensor. This could help Apple in getting better image quality as more light can enter through the large sensors and it would be particularly useful in low-light scenarios. So, if people really want an amazing upgrade with both a periscope lens and the Sony camera optics, it looks like they will have to opt for iPhone 15 Pro Max, as the iPhone 15 Pro model and the standard iPhone 15 may not have too many significant changes.

This will be a major advancement, if that’s how Apple chooses to diversify its iPhone lineup later this year. Though, we don’t know for sure, as these are still early leaked info and a lot may change from now till September 2023 when Apple’s expected to showcase its iPhone 15 phone models.

Google has recently announced the code generation feature for its AI Chatbot Bard. The other two competitors, Microsoft’s Bing AI and OpenAI’s ChatGPT both were already compatible with the feature hence motivating Alphabet Inc to take the popular feature in action.

Additionally, users may now easily transfer Python code to Google Colab. Additionally, Bard will be able to help customers with Google Sheets' authoring features.

Google

Users merely need to tell the bot the type of code they would like to generate, along with the parameters and language, and the chatbot will respond with a code sample. Additionally, it has the ability to export Python code straight into Colab, Google's cloud-based platform for developing models for data science and machine learning via the Chrome browser. Users who want assistance writing routines for Google Sheets can use the chatbot.

Arm semiconductor chips are reportedly in the making: Heres what we know so far

Arm won’t just design, but also manufacture chips as per a new FT report. The British company which is known for selling design IPs to brands like Apple, Qualcomm, Nvidia, etc. is aiming for vertical expansion into the chip-making business. Here’s what we know so far about this.

Arm’s semiconductor business plans

History of Arm

As already mentioned, Arm's semiconductor plans include not just designing, but also manufacturing chips, states the report. However, since it’s new to the game, it will seek help from manufacturing partners.

The report reveals Arm has created a "solutions engineering" team that’s tasked with the development of prototype chips. These chipsets will be used in mobile phones, laptops, and other electronic devices.

The company has reportedly made some strides so far. It has been working on an advanced chip for the last 6 months. This is said to be a step above the current chips.

Once its IPO happens sometime this year, Arm could announce its efforts to the public.

History of Arm in the semiconductor business

Arm

Acorn Archimedes

Recently, Arm signed a partnership with Intel whereby Arm’s partners involved in semiconductor manufacturing can use Intel foundries to make the chips. The foundries will be in particular used for making mobile SoCs in the beginning.

This and the new report of its loftier business plans all seem to have been set in motion post the collapse of its deal with Nvidia. Nvidia was going to buy Arm from its current parent, viz. Japan’s Softbank. This could have been the biggest deal on record valued at $40 billion. But regulatory challenges pushed it to fall apart.

Still, Arm has been doing well in terms of revenue from its server-chips business, chip sales in the automotive sector, and Arm V9-based processors in smartphones. Recently, it has also announced its intention to raise the royalty and licencising fees.

So in its over 3-decade existence, the company named ARM (short for Acorn RISC Machine), whose first product was a RISC processor for a personal computer called Acorn Archimedes, has its design-based chips in almost every major electronic product.

Now only time can tell if it manages to directly compete with its customers, and showcase the actual potential of an Arm-based chip. Let’s see where it goes from here.

Activision takes charge of investigating Call of Duty: Warzone 2 server issues after fan outcry

It’s been a tough few weeks for the folks over at Activision as the launch of Season 3 of Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was not the hit they were expecting it to be. Fans have reported a number of issues with the game such as stuttering, inability to find an actual game and a ton of other server issues. The game was launched on April 12 and it took Activision a week to spring into action. The company has officially acknowledged the problem and is now actively investigating the issue.

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Season 3 has been experiencing server-related problems

An official tweet from the company states that Activision is investigating reports of server-based issues. Streamers and fans alike have been calling out these issues for the past week and to be fair, Activision did jump right into the action as soon as they established that there was something seriously wrong with the launch of Call of Duty: Warsone Season 3. Streamers also reported glitches like malfunctioning parachutes and have been vocal about wanting immediate fixes.

We are investigating reports of server-related gameplay issues and are actively working to resolve them.https://t.co/uZcPLBMAZh

— Call of Duty (@CallofDuty) April 20, 2023

It’s unclear how the company missed these issues or if it was a matter of meeting the launch date regardless of the problems but we hope that these glitches and the like are fixed soon. Apart from stating that they are working on the problem, Activision has not given fans any sort of timeline regarding these server issues. This could take days to weeks, depending on the severity of the problem but at the very least, we know that they are currently working on solving these issues.

Will Sam Altman beat death ChatGPT creator backs anti-ageing research startup

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI which created the ChatGPT AI chatbot, made waves by announcing a multi-million dollar investment into a little-known life sciences startup that’s trying to solve the problem of biological ageing in humans. So in essence they’re trying to conquer death!

When Retro Biosciences, in 2022, announced that the company is launching with $180 million initial funding with the aim “to increase healthy human lifespan by ten years”, the biotechnology ecosystem was thrilled and sceptical as to the existence of the company, how it would accomplish this claim and above it all who were the investors that believed so passionately in this concept. To our surprise the MIT report disclosed, there’s only one investor who has invested 180$ million in the venture and he is none other than the ChatGPT mastermind, Open AI’s CEO, Sam Altman.

The 37-year-old start-up genius, Sam Altman has made a path breaking advancement in technology with his artificial-intelligence company which offer electronic art programs and conversation AI who have been redefining the systems with human-like capabilities. Now we can further understand the ambitions of the CEO as he has invested his money in two other programs. Helion Energy, a fusion power start-up that required him to invest more than $375 million and the other is Retro which asked for $180 million funding. Altman made the investments in the same year.

What is Retro Biosciences

Where Altman has invested in Helion Energy that aspires to tame atom smashing and promises to create a “limitless source of clean energy”, Retro’s is attaining the solution on how to rejuvenate our bodies and prolong life, said the CEO and cofounder, who is better known for inventing the world’s smallest personal computer, Joe Betts-LaCroix. The company has “cellular drivers of ageing” and will be working on three programs. The three programs are aimed at cellular reprogramming, autophagy and plasma-inspired therapeutics. The company aids at achieving a process that is capable of multi-disease prevention. Retro states that its mission “is to increase healthy human lifespan by 10 years.”

However, is this truly achievable well according to Altman, hard startups have a better chance than the easy ones. While fusion and life extension could be unachievable projects, a few years ago everyone suggested that maybe AI could at one point pass a medical exam, and Open AI’s ChatGPT did this year, hence investing in implausible ideas is a double edged sword.

Increase of 10 years in human life span?

There are multiple startups who have been working on the idea of longevity in different verticals of healthcare and medical treatments.

Betts-LaCroix’s interest in cellular reprogramming involved techniques that could transform the cells to be younger through genetic engineering. Retro teamed up with the Chinese researcher, Sheng Ding, the developer of new ways to reprogram cells for the same. And the CEO finally thought of processes that cells use to dispose of toxins which is known as autophagy. If the company achieves the said goal, the healthcare industry will have an avenue to build upon treatments for cancer and heart diseases.

Apart from Retro there are other startups who are aiming to fight death, below is the list to explore their avenues of beating death and prolonging life. Longevity Vision Fund - Neurodegenerative disease Tempus - Gene editing, epigenetic programming and organ regeneration Elysium Health - Biological age index Valo Health - Age-defying unicorns

WhatsApp, Signal oppose UK Online Safety Bill: How India could be impacted

WhatsApp, Signal and five other apps have come together to sign an open letter to oppose Britain's Online Safety Bill. The platforms suggest that the law if regulated in the wrong way can lead to the disruption of privacy for billions of users around the globe and hence, the platforms have united to disapprove the bill.

Britain's Online Safety Bill has been primarily designed to prepare a strict set of laws for regulating social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. However, in order to regulate these platforms the fundamental aspect of privacy, end-to-end encryption is put under threat. The British government has mentioned that the bill in "no way represented a ban on end-to-end encryption, nor would it require services to weaken encryption".

Also Read: How to send original quality photos on WhatsApp on iOS, Android, and Web

However, the government wants regulator Ofcom to use accredited technology for the platforms, or advance the technology so that there can be ease of identification for child sexual abuse content.

WhatsApp

What is Encryption?

The transformation of plaintext data into a non-understandable form (cipher text) where the original data cannot be recovered, which is a one-way encryption or cannot be recovered even after the use of inverse decryption technology, which is a two-way encryption.

The bill in no way provides a protection for encryption, and if implemented as written, will propagate the Ofcom to enforce the scan of private messages on end-to-end encrypted communication services. This will devoid the primary purpose of end-to-end encryption, which allows information sent through a message to be read only by the sender and recipient. This in turn will compromise the privacy agendas for the users.

Speaking of the bill and the concerns of the social platforms, a British government spokesperson said: "We support strong encryption, but this cannot come at the cost of public safety.”

Also Read: WhatsApp introduces 3 new features for security and privacy

How can this UK law impact Indian netizens?

It’s not inconceivable to think that loosening WhatsApp or other private messaging apps’ encryption in Britain may impact Indian citizens interacting with their counterparts in Britain. To the best of our knowledge, India currently does not have any specific encryption laws. However, industries governing the banking, finance, and telecommunications industry verticals, mandate requirements for minimum encryption standards to be implemented in protecting financial and confidential transactions. The Central Government has the authority to frame any regime regulation of encryption under the Information Technology Act of 2000. The ITA 2000 regulates electronic and wireless modes of communication.

India governs the laws that can be aligned and be in sync with the international standards and regulations. The amendment of 2008 for ITA 2000 states that the government can prescribe the methods for encryption for electronic medium security and for e-governance and e-commerce promotion.

The private sector requires continuous adaptation and evolution of technology to provide stronger encryption on their networks to prevent any cyber security discrepancies. Taking this into consideration to combat cyber security and safeguard technology the platforms depend on a transparent national framework or regulatory presence. India has been proactively trying to mandate regulations on social media platforms which resulted in WhatsApp filing a lawsuit against them. However, the government requires a set of rules that can help the technology industry and law enforcement bodies to be able to provide better cyber security, citizen’s privacy and national security.

Netflix Adds 1.75 Million New Subscribers in Q1 2023 After Password Sharing Crackdown, Ad-Supported Tier

Netflix on Tuesday revealed that it added 1.75 million subscribers in Q1 2023 as the streaming service announced earnings in line with analyst estimates. The popular video streaming platform has already begun to see the benefits of a crackdown on password sharing and the introduction of an ad-supported tier for subscribers.

Netflix bullishly moving forward with its password-sharing crackdown measures in Q2 2023

We were all dreading this, but it looks like Netflix is now looking at a broad rollout of its password-sharing clampdown in a few more markets. The company first introduced these measures in countries like Portugal, New Zealand, Canada and Spain and if reports are to be believed, the upper management at Netflix seems to be happy about how the launch of the service has turned out. Netflix is looking at deploying its new sharing plans in the US and other markets around the world sometime in the second quarter of 2023. As mentioned above, the streaming giant has already rolled out a ‘buy an extra member’ feature in 4 countries but is now looking at expanding that feature on a global scale.

Netflix rolling out new password-sharing clampdowns

So, how does all this really work? Let’s break it down. Say you pay for one Netflix account and have shared said account with 4 other people in your family circle. Netflix says that all 4 individuals should be in the ‘same household’ in order to access the service. What this means is that Netflix is tired of losing money on garbage TV shows and is looking at new sleazy ways of ripping off its subscriber base. Part of what made Netflix the juggernaut it now is was the ability to share your account with friends and family (legally, of course). But, in a move straight out of Scrooge McDuck’s playbook, the company is looking at wringing every drop of blood out of its customers that it possibly can. Netflix’s co-CEO Greg Peters stated that the company is looking at ‘protecting its revenue and ensuring fair usage of its service”. Well, one step towards saving revenue would be to stop producing garbage!

Netflix

How does it affect Netflix users in India?

How this pans out for the streaming giant is yet to be seen, and on a personal note, I have family on my account who do not live in the country. So, it’ll be interesting to see exactly how this turns out in a country like India. The streaming service is already the most expensive in the country and it’ll be difficult for someone to justify an extra bit of cash for a dying service with absolutely pathetic programming.

Vivo is on a roll at releasing some amazing smartphones at different price-ranges. On that note, another new smartphone of Vivo V-series will be coming soon in the market, none other than the Vivo V29 Lite 5G.

The Vivo V29 Lite 5G has appeared on the Google Play Console database. Though Vivo hasn't confirmed anything yet, this listing has made it quite obvious that the phone is about to get launched pretty soon.

From the Google Play Console listing the design and certain specifications of the smartphone could be determined. Let's look into those one by one.

Also, you can check out the recent mid-range smartphones launched by Vivo as well: TVivo T2 5G and T2x 5G.

Possible look of the Vivo V29 Lite 5G

The Google Play Console suggests how the Vivo V29 Lite 5G might look like. But it has suggested only the phone's front look. As the Google Play Console database leak suggests, the phone reportedly has a HD+ display, a water drop notch for the front camera and thin bezels.

Possible specifications of the Vivo V29 Lite 5G

Vivo

Vivo V29 Lite's suggested specifications

The Vivo V29 Lite will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset which has a clock speed of 2.2GHz. Additionally, the phone will also have an Adreno 619 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU).

The Google Play Console listing suggests that the smartphone will run on Android 13. As of now, according to the listing the phone will have 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage atleast. The phone might also have a triple lens camera. Coming to the battery, it will be packed with 5,000mAh battery and fast charging.

The Vivo V29 Lite 5G has the listing in Google Play Console under the model name Vivo V2244.
