A day after the key specs of the upcoming Oppo Reno2 smartphone became public, the company has shelled out some more information about the hardware of the handset. Additionally, it has confirmed some of the rumours that were making rounds on the internet. Oppo has said that the smartphone will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, and will come equipped with ‘VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge’ quick charging technology. The SoC is also said to deliver an “intuitive image capture” and have support for Ultra Dark Mode and Bokeh Mode. The company also confirmed that the processor will be paired with 8GB RAM along with 256GB storage. The 730G octa-core processor in the Reno2 is touted to “ensure a powerful gaming experience” with an on-device AI, and is claims to deliver 25 percent faster graphic rendering in comparison to the previous version.
Moreover, the Oppo Reno2 will also come equipped with Game Boost 3.0 tech, which comprises of Frame Boost and Touch Boost. While the Frame Boost 2.0 will allocate resources to avoid the consumption of too much power and heating of the phone, the Touch Boost 2.0 will assess touch events and accelerate response time accordingly. Additionally, the phone has True HDR10 Gaming Support that is said to allow maximum display resolution. “The Link Boost features helps in utilising Wi-Fi and 4G signals simultaneously even when the Wi-Fi network signals are weak. The device also features Game Assistant which will turn off the notification while gaming,” Oppo said.
The phone will have a quad-camera setup on the back. Oppo says that the back panel is constructed from a single piece of 3D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5. On the front, the phone will sport a 6.55-inch AMOLED Panoramic screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio, 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and the phone will have an in-display fingerprint unlock 3.0 with G3 optical sensor fingerprint unlocking technology. The Oppo Reno2 will house a 4000mAh battery which will be supported with VOOC Flash Charge 3.0 with Type-C charging. The handset will be available in Ocean Blue and Luminous Black colours.
