Xiaomi Mi TVs receive new Collections feature in India as a part of the PatchWall UI

If you are rocking a Xiaomi TV, then there is good news for you. Mi TVs are getting a new feature called 'Collections' which curates content by genre, actors, etc. The curated content or collections appears as a row below recently added row and above the Live News row in the UI as per the images shared. The information comes from Eshwar Nilakantan. He is the category lead for smart TVs at Xiaomi India. He took to Twitter to reveal the information.

His tweet reads, “Launched Collections on PatchWall! One place to check out the best-curated movies across Genres, Actors, etc.. The curated list has movies for everyone! Mi Fans - hope you like this feature!!”

PatchWall, as a UI, brings forth content before you get to streaming services. So when you look at the UI, it will show you movies and TV shows from different streaming services and when you click on the content, it will launch with the respective streaming service. It is quite a user-friendly UI and is great for those that are looking at their first smart TV experience.

Xiaomi recently added Sony LIV content to its PatchWall UI. So if you are a Sony Liv subscriber, you should see the content there, to begin with. Xiaomi’s PatchWall also brings with it a Kids Mode, giving users access to features like a parental lock, safe universal search, free educational content, and more.

If you are rocking an older TV and looking to get a smart TV experience then you can check out the Mi Box 4K. It runs on Android and brings with it a host of interesting features. You can check out our in-depth look at the Mi Box 4K here and a look at how it compares to the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K here.
