OnePlus Nord users facing Bluetooth connectivity issues

The OnePlus Nord (review) is easily the most hyped smartphone of 2020. The anticipated reached its peak just before its launch, and in nearly every review, the smartphone has been hailed to be one that just works. Yet, despite the team working on the product for more than a year, the OnePlus Nord also received five software updates within one month of its launch for bug fixes. That certainly erodes away the confidence, and indicates OnePlus may not have tested every aspect of the smartphone before releasing it to the public.

The belief grew stronger after complaints of display tinting flooded the internet right after the first sale happened. Users complained of the display showing a green tint at low brightness, while YouTubers like JerryRigEverything criticised the smartphone for its plastic frame. And like most other OnePlus smartphones, Nord’s issues keep cropping up.

Nord users have taken to Reddit and the OnePlus Community, complaining of Bluetooth connectivity issues. The smartphone reportedly drops connection within a few minutes of pairing with a device preventing users from listening to music and answering calls on their wireless earphones.

Interestingly, some users have reported the issue happens only when the smartphone is connected to 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. With a 5GHz Wi-Fi connection, the Bluetooth works just fine. Quite weird for that to happen.

OnePlus is yet to acknowledge the issue, and going by precedence, the company usually does, and works on a fix that it issues via a software update. But here’s the thing. If a brand claims of consistent updates, but most of the updates are bug fixes, should it be considered a good thing or a bad thing?
