Dont expect Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer anytime soon

One of the most anticipated games of 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has had one of the rockiest launches in gaming history. While the game runs fine on mid to high-end PC’s it is on the consoles where the game offers a lacklustre experience. Cyberpunk 2077 launched on a whopping 9 platforms - PC, PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. The game was quite buggy overall but it was the last-gen consoles, the PS4 and Xbox One which saw the worst version of the game to the point that Sony has removed the game from the PlayStation Store. Those dissatisfied with the game can claim a refund as well.

During the announcement phase of Cyberpunk 2077, it was revealed that the game will offer post-launch content in the form of meaty story DLC and multiplayer. But it looks like gamers will have to wait longer to get their hands on the DLC and the multiplayer.

CDPR CEO Adam Kicinski has said, “At the moment please let us handle the situation, and please let us make some more assessments – that’s still ahead of us; we don’t know yet, and we’re now focused on improving Cyberpunk. We’ll discuss this early next year”. So, it looks like the priority is to fix the game on all platforms and also to release the native PS5 and Series S/X version of the game before focusing on the DLC and multiplayer. It looks like we will have to wait longer than expected for the multiplayer of Cyberpunk 2077. If this means getting a great experience at launch, we are sure gamers won't mind the wait.

We spent some time playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a PS5 and you can check out our experience of the game here.
