Safari 15 brought a new design that unified the address bar and tab bar - a decision that was unanimously disliked by Apple users. To rectify this, Apple offered an option that allowed users to separate the address bar from the tabs, however, this layout was also fairly disliked, with many people calling it bad when compared to other versions of the browser. Now, Apple has decided to keep things simple and revert to the classic design to keep users happy.

Having said that, it’s important to note that the unified layout is still available, and is the default option for the browser. You have to opt for the classic look to use it.

If you want to install the latest version of Safari on your Mac, all you need to do is open the System Preferences app and then click the Software Update option. You can go into the Tabs menu within the app’s preferences window to revert Safari to the old design.
