Heres the list of new features coming on WhatsApp for iOS
Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working to bring a redesigned interface on iOS by introducing new icons. WhatsApp will likely introduce new icons for the settings section in a future update of the app, as per the report.
According to a report by a known WhatsApp tipster publication, WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is working on improving the interface of iOS by introducing new icons.

According to the screenshot, WhatsApp is expected to introduce new icons for the settings section in a future update of the app.

The new icons will likely enable users to experience a better modern interface, improving the visual appeal of the application.
It’s worth noting that WhatsApp is also planning to release redesigned icons in the chat info section in the future.
With the revamped interface, WhatsApp aims to offer a better modern and user-friendly experience.
“With the new design, WhatsApp is finally demonstrating its commitment to addressing user feedback and evolving the interface of the app. Users have been requesting for a revamped user interface for years, as the application had not received updates in this context for a considerable amount of time, potentially causing it to seem outdated when compared to competing apps,” the report said.
Recently, it was reported that the Meta-owned instant messaging platform had started testing a new video avatar calling feature. This feature is expected to allow users to replace themselves with avatars during video calls. Given that WhatsApp is owned by Meta, it's worth noting that Meta introduced the real-time avatar calling feature for Instagram and Messenger in July. Therefore, it's possible for WhatsApp to incorporate such a feature in the future. WhatsApp also reportedly started testing an automatic security code verification feature for end-to-end encryption. For this new feature, WhatsApp is expected to introduce a revamped encryption verification screen.

Alexa gets cool new features like Automatic Lightning, Map View & more
Amazon has announced new features for Alexa. The new features include Automatic Lightning, Map View and much more.
Below are the new features that Amazon announced for Alexa.
Automatic LightingLater this year, Alexa will be able to detect the brightness level and activity in a room, and intelligently decide to turn the lights on or off. So, you will no longer need to walk into a dark room and search for a light switch, or even ask Alexa to do it for you.
Users should look for motion and ambient light sensors that have the Works with Alexa (WWA) badge to enable this feature once available. Select Echo devices with motion and ambient light sensors will also support this feature soon, including the Echo Dot (5th Gen).
Also read: 5 key features of Amazon Echo Dot 5 launched in India
Explore with AlexaExplore with Alexa is a new conversational experience for Amazon Kids+ on Echo devices that combines entertaining facts and trivia questions to boost deeper curiosity and exploration. Soon, when kids ask Alexa a question about animals and nature, Alexa will respond with information adapted from trusted sources and encourage kids to keep exploring a topic.
Initiate routines in more than one wayLater this year, users will be able to initiate a single Routine in multiple ways. For example, users can initiate a Bedtime Routine that turns off all the lights, closes the blinds and begins playing sleep sounds when someone says “Alexa, goodnight” or every weekday at 10 p.m.
Top ConnectionsAccording to Amazon, calling friends and dropping in on household members
is a popular Alexa feature for staying in touch, so the company is making it even easier for users
to connect with those that matter most.
The Top Connections widget on Echo Show 15 allows users to easily see their favourite contacts and most frequently used devices within the household. Users can quickly initiate a call or drop-in with a single-tap. They will also be able to see birthday reminders. This will extend to Echo Show 5, 8, and 10 in the coming months.
Map ViewMap View allows users to utilise compatible iOS devices to scan and create a digital map of their home’s floor plan and pin their connected devices to it. This lets users visualise their home at a glance, without needing to scroll through any device lists, remember device names, or open multiple apps.
Users can also use Map View to easily control their devices, like turning all the lights downstairs on and off in a single tap, or to check if the doors are locked after leaving home in a hurry. It will be available in the Alexa app later this year, and come to Echo Hub early next year.

From silicon to cloud: CEO Pat Gelsinger shares Intels vision of AI everywhere
In a packed hall full of analysts and the world's media, Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger flagged off what he referred to as the “AI PC” era during his opening keynote at the third edition of Intel Innovation event. Gelsinger demonstrated this with a hitherto unnamed (not to mention unreleased) laptop running on Intel’s Lunar Lake chip, estimated to arrive some time in the second half of 2024.
We are at Intel Innovation 2023, where Intel is going to showcase interesting ways AI is powering our today and tomorrow… Here’s Pat Gelsinger, CEO, Intel has started his opening keynote address#IntelInnovation #intel #ai #siliconomy @intel @IntelIndia @PGelsinger pic.twitter.com/5MN2Do8pbt
— Digit (@digitindia) September 19, 2023This sneak peek into Intel’s platform showed how Audacity, a widely used open-source audio software, can generate a Taylor Swift-like song in a matter of seconds – proving how Intel’s about to launch end user devices like PCs and laptops that can run AI workloads locally without connecting to a cloud-based service.
Tipping his hat to the amazing work being done by the likes of Sam Altman at OpenAI and Jensen Huang at NVIDIA, powering the next set of AI breakthroughs, “The work they’re doing at the high end is really cool, as we move to trillion parameter models and beyond, this is amazing and breaking new science,” noted Gelsinger in his keynote address. “But I’ll tell you what’s even cooler if we put it in the hands of every human on earth,” he emphasized, which is essentially what Intel’s AI PC mission is all about.
Also read: Intel’s Sandra Rivera on future of AI, data centers and India’s tech moment
“AI represents a generational shift, giving rise to a new era of global expansion,” where computing is fundamental to enable a better future for all, according to Gelsinger. For developers, he reinforced how Intel is bringing AI capabilities across its hardware products and making it accessible through open, multi-architecture software solutions, helping them “create solutions to the world’s biggest challenges and to improve the life of every person on the planet.” AI is helping to drive “Siliconomy,” noted Gelsinger, a “growing economy enabled by the magic of silicon and software.” Silicon alone drives a $574 billion industry that in turn powers a global tech economy worth almost $8 trillion, according to Intel.
The work begins with silicon innovation. Intel’s five-nodes-in-four-years process development program is progressing well, Gelsinger said, with Intel 7 already in high-volume manufacturing, Intel 4 manufacturing-ready and Intel 3 on track for the end of this year. Gelsinger also showed an Intel 20A wafer with the first test chips for Intel’s Arrow Lake processor, which is destined for the client computing market in 2024. Intel 20A will be the first process node to include PowerVia, Intel’s backside power delivery technology, and the new gate-all-around transistor design called RibbonFET. Intel 18A, which also leverages PowerVia and RibbonFET, remains on track to be manufacturing-ready in the second half of 2024.
Another way Intel presses Moore’s Law forward is with new materials and new packaging technologies, like glass substrates – a breakthrough Intel announced this week. When introduced later this decade, glass substrates will allow for continued scaling of transistors on a package to help meet the need for data-intensive, high-performance workloads like AI and will keep Moore’s Law going well beyond 2030.
Intel also displayed a test chip package built with Universal Chiplet Interconnect Express (UCIe). Formed last year, the UCIe standard will allow chiplets from different vendors to work together, enabling new designs for the expansion of diverse AI workloads. The open specification is supported by more than 120 companies. The test chip combined an Intel UCIe IP chiplet fabricated on Intel 3 and a Synopsys UCIe IP chiplet fabricated on TSMC N3E process node. The chiplets are connected using embedded multi-die interconnect bridge (EMIB) advanced packaging technology. The demonstration highlights the commitment of TSMC, Synopsys and Intel Foundry Services to support an open standard-based chiplet ecosystem with UCIe.
Welcome to the AI PC eraAI is about to get more personal, too. “AI will fundamentally transform, reshape and restructure the PC experience – unleashing personal productivity and creativity through the power of the cloud and PC working together,” Gelsinger said. “We are ushering in a new age of the AI PC.”
This new PC experience arrives with the upcoming Intel Core Ultra processors, code-named Meteor Lake, featuring Intel’s first integrated neural processing unit, or NPU, for power-efficient AI acceleration and local inference on the PC. Gelsinger confirmed Core Ultra also will launch Dec. 14.
Intel Core Ultra represents an inflection point in Intel’s client processor roadmap: It’s the first client chiplet design enabled by Foveros packaging technology. In addition to the NPU and major advances in power-efficient performance thanks to Intel 4 process technology, the new processor brings discrete-level graphics performance with onboard Intel Arc graphics.
On stage, Gelsinger showed an array of new AI PC use cases, and Jerry Kao, chief operating officer of Acer, gave a sneak peek at an upcoming Acer laptop powered by Core Ultra. “We’ve been co-developing with Intel teams a suite of Acer AI applications to take advantage of the Intel Core Ultra platform,” Kao said, “developing with the OpenVINO toolkit and co-developed AI libraries to bring the hardware to life.”
Empowering the developersIntel announced the general availability of the Intel Developer Cloud, aimed at helping developers accelerate AI using the latest Intel hardware and software innovations – including Intel Gaudi2 processors for deep learning – and provides access to the latest Intel hardware platforms, present and future.
Also read: NVIDIA, Reliance join hands to advance AI in India: LLMs in India regional languages coming soon
Additionally, Intel highlighted the 2023.1 release of the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit, the company’s AI inferencing and deployment runtime of choice for developers on client and edge platforms which includes pre-trained models optimized for integration across operating systems and different cloud solutions, including many generative AI models, such as the Llama 2 model from Meta. Intel also revealed Project Strata, the development of an edge-native software platform by 2024 with modular building blocks, premium service and support offerings.
“AI going forward must deliver more access, scalability, visibility, transparency and trust to the whole ecosystem,” Gelsinger said.

Microsoft Paint gets support for layers: Heres how to use it
Microsoft has announced that it is starting to roll out an update for the Paint app to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels (version 11.2308.18.0 or higher). With this update, the tech giant is introducing support for layers and transparency which are features that contemporary image editing apps have had for years.
“You can now add, remove, and manage layers on the canvas to create richer and more complex digital art,” the company said in a Windows Insider blogpost on September 18.
Also read: Microsoft says don't worry, it will protect Copilot AI users from copyright lawsuits
With layers, users can stack shapes, text and other image elements on top of each other.
How to use layers in Microsoft Paint?Step 1. To get started, open Microsoft Paint.
Step 2. Click on the new Layers button in the toolbar.
Step 3. Now, you will see a panel on the side of the canvas. This is where you can add new layers to the canvas.
Try changing the order of layers in the panel to see how the order of stacked image elements on the canvas changes. You can also show or hide and duplicate individual layers or merge layers together.
With the new update, Microsoft is also adding support for transparency, including the ability to open and save transparent PNGs.
When working with a single layer, you will notice a checkerboard pattern on the canvas which indicates the portions of the image that are transparent. “Erasing any content from the canvas now truly erases the content instead of painting the area white. When working with multiple layers, if you erase content on one layer, you will reveal the content in layers underneath,” Microsoft said.
In June, Microsoft introduced support for dark mode in Paint. "By default, Paint will adapt to your system theme preferences, but you can change this option yourself on the brand-new settings page," it said. The company also announced improvements to the zoom controls to give users more flexibility and control over the view of their content on the canvas.

Google Slides gets new live pointers feature: heres how to use it
Google has announced a new ‘live pointers’ feature for its presentation app Google Slides. This new feature aims to boost collaboration in Google Slides. It allows multiple people to see each other’s mouse pointers in real-time.
“To boost collaboration in Google Slides, we’re introducing live pointers, a new feature that allows you and your colleagues to see each other’s mouse pointers in real-time,” the tech giant said in a Workspace Updates blogpost on September 18.
Also read: How to use Google Docs, Slides and Sheets in Offline mode
With this update, co-creators can easily point out specific text or visual elements within a Slide in order to highlight important information and content.
The live pointers feature will help to build connections when you're collaborating in real-time with others.
If you haven't received this feature yet, just wait a little more as it is currently rolling out.
How to use live pointers in Google Slides? This feature is off by default, so you have to enable this feature by following the below steps.
Step 1. Open Google Slides.
Step 2. Go to View.
Step 3. From the drop-down menu, select the Live pointers option.
Step 4. Then click on show my pointer.
Alternatively, you can turn the feature on by using the pointer icon in the toolbar.
It’s important to note that live pointers will remain visible across all slides until you turn them off.
To hide collaborator pointers for the current session, navigate to the present mode, or go to View > Live pointers > show collaborator pointers.
In our opinion, as the new live pointers feature facilitates real-time collaboration among multiple users working on the same presentation by allowing collaborators to see each other's mouse pointers, it makes it easier to communicate and coordinate while editing or presenting Google Slides.
Earlier this month, Google introduced new zoom keyboard shortcuts for Google Slides on web to help you zoom in, zoom out, or scale to 100 per cent. Additionally, you can now smoothly zoom in or out in Slides using the trackpad or mouse wheel with a modifier key (cmd/ctrl), making it easier to control your view of Slides.

Which are the most popular and least popular iPhone 15 models in India so far
Last week, Apple launched the most awaited iPhone 15 series along with the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra second generation. As usual, the tech giant has rolled out four models in the iPhone 15 series. They are the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Similar to last year, the iPhone 15 Plus appears to have been sidelined by the users. On the contrary, it seems that the iPhone 15 and the high-end Pro Max have become the favored models in the series. Let's take a look at which iPhone 15 models are the most and least popular among users.
According to Google Trends, the iPhone 15 is the one that has been searched by most people. However, some users might also use the “iPhone 15” term to look for other models if they are not familiar with the specific names. Additionally, The Economic Times revealed in a report that the new iPhone 15 series has won many hearts. If compared to last year, then about 20-25 percent more pre-bookings have been done this year.
Also read: Why you should buy the iPhone 15 or skip it altogether and save your money
The iPhone 15 gave all the reasons to users to love it. Being the standard model, the smartphone is offering a lot this year, and that too at the same prices as last year. However, the iPhone 15 is not the only favourite smartphone among users. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is also expected to be sold at an increased amount this year. Apple is also said to have increased launch stock up to 3,00,000 units.
Also read: Get the iPhone 15 for as low as ₹12,100 with the Apple Trade-in program
Now let’s get to the least popular iPhone 15 model. Being the middle child, this could be the iPhone 15 Plus. Why? Because people either look to purchase the standard model or the high-end variants. The iPhone 15 Plus is the same smartphone as the iPhone 15. The only difference is that it has a bigger battery and display on which even I don’t want to spend ₹10,000 more.

Google Tensor G4 wont be a big upgrade over Pixel 8s Tensor G3: Report
With the release of the Pixel 6, Google unveiled its first Tensor chipset, aiming to grow independent of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. Interestingly, these Tensor chips were developed in collaboration with Samsung and incorporate certain elements from Google, while drawing substantial inspiration from Samsung's Exynos chips. According to a recent report, this will remain the same, extending into the development of the forthcoming Tensor G3 and Tensor G4 chips.
According to a report by Android Authority, citing a “Google insider”, Tensor G4 in the Google Pixel 9 won’t be a very big upgrade.
Also read: Google may pray for AI to save Tensor G3 chip’s reputation in Pixel 8 phones
While Tensor G3 is known as “Zuma,” Tensor G4 is codenamed “Zuma Pro,” according to the report.
Also read: Smartphone or digital thermometer? Google Pixel 8 Pro will be both!
Google's minot Tensor G4 chip upgrade and beyondThe new chip is expected to still be semi-custom and co-designed with Samsung. Also, it will likely be a minor upgrade than initially planned. This is similar to how Tensor G2 was a small update over the original Tensor.
The report further mentioned that Google has also started working on the next-generation fully-custom Tensor chip codename “Laguna Beach” for 2025 Pixels, and the development board for this chip is codenamed “Deepspace.”
Google initially had plans to introduce its 2024 Pixel series featuring a "fully custom" Tensor SoC, codenamed "Redondo," built using a TSMC process node. However, due to a missed deadline, the chip arrived too late for inclusion in the 2024 Pixel 9 series.
Earlier, it was rumoured that the upcoming Tensor G3 chipset won’t have as good a performance as its other flagship counterparts. This could be a potential deal breaker, if true. But that’s not all, rumours also suggested that this Google chip will be coming with top notch AI under the hood, which would allow Google to still showcase some never-before-seen applications on the Pixel 8 smartphone later this year – and save its reputation.

To celebrate 10 years of GTA V in GTA Online, Rockstar last week introduced a trio of unique new outfits reminiscent of classic looks for Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. It also introduced GTA V-themed weapon finishes, bonuses on classic modes, gameplay, and more.

WhatsApp will soon let you initiate group calls with up to 31 participants: Know more
Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly testing a feature to initiate group calls with up to 31 participants, along with minor improvements to the calls tab. It is currently being tested on Android, as per the report.
According to a report by a known WhatsApp tipster publication, WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is rolling out a 31-people group calling feature, along with a revised interface for the calls tab.
Also read: WhatsApp to verify security codes for end-to-end encryption: Why it matters?

With the new changes to the calls tab, WhatsApp users will likely no longer see call links on this screen. Also, the floating action button is expected to be updated with a plus icon.
Meanwhile, the 31-person group calling feature is expected to help users easily connect with a larger group of participants.
Also read: WhatsApp will let you swap your face with cool avatars in video calls: Here’s how
While the messaging platform already allowed group calls of up to 32 participants in the past updates, users were only able to select 15 contacts while initiating a call.
The 31-person group calling feature, along with minor improvements to the calls tab, is currently available to a limited number of beta testers on Android, according to the report.
In our opinion, the ability to initiate group calls with up to 31 participants will allow for more extensive and inclusive group conversations. This can be especially useful for business meetings, virtual family gatherings, or connecting with a larger circle of friends.
Last week, it was reported that WhatsApp had started testing a new video avatar calling feature. This feature is expected to allow users to replace themselves with avatars during video calls. Given that WhatsApp is owned by Meta, it's worth noting that Meta introduced the real-time avatar calling feature for Instagram and Messenger in July. Hence, it was only a matter of time before WhatsApp would incorporate such a feature on the platform.

Vivo T2 Pro 5G design hints of a possible rebranded iQOO Z7 Pro 5G
Vivo recently confirmed the T2 Pro 5G smartphone in India. The Chinese brand has not revealed the launch date of T2 Pro 5G. The launch date announcement has also revealed the design of the upcoming T2 Pro 5G, and it looks exactly like the iQOO Z7 Pro 5G. Fun fact here is that last year as well, Vivo rolled out the T1 Pro 5G which looked exactly like iQOO Z6 Pro 5G and packed the same specifications.
Talking about the launch date, the Vivo T2 Pro 5G will launch in India on September 22 at 12 PM. If you wish to watch the live streaming of the Vivo T2 Pro 5G event, you can watch it on Vivo’s official YouTube channel. The Vivo T2 Pro 5G will also go for sale on Flipkart.
Also read: Why Vivo T2 Pro 5G competes with iQOO Z7 Pro 5G market: Processor and more revealed
Vivo has also revealed the gold colour option of the T2 Pro 5G. It is expected that the smartphone will roll out in more colours. The smartphone seems to feature a marble finish on the back. There will be a curved display and a punch-hole cutout for the front camera. On the back, there is a square camera module that houses a dual camera setup and Vivo’s aura light ring.
As I mentioned above, the Vivo T2 Pro 5G could be the same as the Z7 Pro 5G. That means we can get an idea of the specifications of the T2 Pro 5G. The Vivo T2 Pro 5G might feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution. The display also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit colours, and HDR10+.

Threads new features released: Mobile notifications and post quoting on web enabled
Instagram head Adam Mosseri today announced new features for Threads. The new features include the ability to follow a thread by turning on notifications for 24 hours without following the account, and the ability to quote other posts on web.
“New for Threads: On mobile, you can now keep an eye on a thread and follow the conversation by turning on notifications for 24 hours. No need to follow the account. On web, you can now quote other posts when posting from www.threads.net. Click on the ‘repost’ logo under the post you want to quote, then select ‘quote’,” Mosseri posted on his Instagram Broadcast Channel.
Also read: Threads keyword search feature now rolling out in India: Here’s how to use it
Mosseri also shared a very short video of the new thread notifications features while announcing the new features. According to the video, users will be able to follow a thread by tapping a new bell button present at the top right corner of that post.
Also read: Threads starts keyword search feature, as Meta and Zuck refuse to give up
In our opinion, the new features on Threads will offer several advantages and benefits. The new mobile notifications will help users to keep up with important or interesting threads without having to follow the account, ensuring that they don't miss out on updates. Also, notifications for 24 hours will provide a temporary way to stay engaged with a specific conversation without a long-term commitment.
On the other hand, the ability to quote other posts will allow more precise and context-aware responses, improving the quality of discussions.
Despite Threads’ user drop, the company has been continuously introducing new features in order to gain back users. Last week, Threads launched its keyword search feature in India. This feature is available on both mobile and the web version. For those who are unaware, the keyword search feature allows users to search for posts on Threads.
Last month, Meta Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced the feature to directly share a Threads post to Instagram DMs and the ability to add custom alt-text for photo/video. He also introduced a new mention button to easily mention someone's account.

WhatsApp Channels now available in India: How to create your WhatsApp Channel
Meta has finally launched WhatsApp Channels in India. For those who are unaware WhatsApp Channels were first introduced in June and are a one-way broadcast tool for admins to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls.
“Today we have launched WhatsApp Channels in India and will deliver a private way for people to receive updates that matter to them. We’re also welcoming some of your favourite celebrities, sports teams, artists, creators, thought leaders that people can follow, right within WhatsApp,” Meta announced in a blogpost on September 13, 2023.
Also read: Browsing WhatsApp channels now easier with advanced search filters: Here's how
WhatsApp Channels can be found in a new tab called ‘Updates’ on the platform, where users will find Status and channels they choose to follow– separate from their chats with family, friends, and communities.
Also read: WhatsApp may soon let you message people using other apps: Here’s why
Celebrities like Katrina Kaif, Diljit Dosanjh, Akshay Kumar, and Vijay Deverakonda have launched their WhatsApp Channels. The Indian Cricket Team has also launched their WhatsApp Channel, as the country and Indians all over the world gear up for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.
With ‘Enhanced Directory’ users can find channels to follow that are automatically filtered based on their country. Users can also view channels that are new, most active, and popular based on the number of followers.
In WhatsApp Channels, users can also react using emojis to give feedback and see a count of total reactions. Also, whenever users forward an Update to chats or groups it will include a link back to the channel so that people can find out more.
It’s worth noting that following a channel won’t reveal your phone number to the admin or other followers. Who you decide to follow is your choice and it’s private.
Admins will also have the option to block screenshots and forwards from their channels. Admins can also decide who can follow their channel and whether they want their channel to be discoverable in the directory or not.
How to create WhatsApp Channels?Step 1. Open WhatsApp on your phone, and navigate to the Updates tab.
Step 2. Tap the plus icon (+), and select New channel.
Step 3. Tap ‘Get started’ and continue through the onscreen prompts.
Step 4. Add a channel name to finish creating your channel.
Step 5. Customise your channel by adding a description and icon.
Step 6: Then finally tap Create channel, and you’re done.

While the iPhone 15 rolls out with Dynamic Island, a 48-megapixel main camera, and much more, the Pro variants also have a lot to offer this year. Here is the comparison of the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max vs iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max: DesignIn terms of design, Apple has made a lot of changes in its latest iPhone series. Starting with the USB Type-C port. iPhone 15 event buzz: Apple rumoured to discontinue all silicon accessories
The countdown for the release of the Apple iPhone 15 series has started. The tech giant is all set to hold its ‘Wonderlust’ event tomorrow where it is expected to unveil its next smartphone lineup, Watch Series 9, and more. A new report has claimed that in addition to discontinuing its lineup of leather cases this year, Apple might also start gradually discontinuing its silicone accessories.
According to a report by MacRumors, Apple might be planning to discontinue its silicone rubber and fluoroelastomer accessories and is expected to replace them with ones made of more eco-friendly next-generation materials.
Also read: Apple iPhone 15 updates: New 'FineWoven' cases to come in 10 colours, matching Apple Watch band
The transition is expected to include accessories like the iPhone Silicone Case with MagSafe, Sport Band, Solo Loop, and AirTag Loop. The rumour came from Apple device collector and leaker ‘Kosutami’ who previously shared details of the iPhone 15's braided USB-C cable, multiple prototypes like the MagSafe chargers and AirPods in different colour options, and more.
Also read: Apple iPhone 15 updates: New colours, reason behind price hike explained
Following the release of the iPhone 15 series, Apple is anticipated to discontinue its leather iPhone cases and replace them with accessories made of a high-end material dubbed ‘FineWoven’.
According to the report, the move of discontinuing silicone accessories “is not expected to be imminent, instead taking place via a more gradual transition whereby existing models are not refreshed with new color options.”
It's believed that the move to switch to more environmentally friendly materials is what led to the discontinuation of all leather and silicone Apple accessories. Apple's silicone rubber accessories are not created from recycled materials, despite having a reduced carbon footprint than their leather counterparts. Also, due to their heat-resistant qualities and sturdy, crosslinked structure, materials like fluoroelastomer are extremely challenging to recycle.
In the short term, ‘FineWoven’ is anticipated to replace leather as Apple's initial next-generation material, but it might also eventually replace some silicone accessories. Moreover, new fresh, greener materials might also be launched for additional accessories in the future.

WhatsApp may soon let you message people using other apps: Heres why
Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is reportedly working on a third-party chats feature. This support for chat interoperability is expected to allow other people to connect with users on WhatsApp even if they don’t have a WhatsApp account. As this feature is currently under development, it is not ready for beta testers, as per the report.
According to a report by a known WhatsApp tipster publication, WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is working to meet new European Union regulations by adding chat interoperability support in an upcoming app update.
Also read: WhatsApp will soon make sharing original quality photos & videos easier
Source: WABetaInfo
The European Union has recently agreed on a significant competition reform called the Digital Markets Act (DMA). This reform will impose strict rules on major tech companies, requiring them to allow users to communicate across different apps.
WhatsApp is among the companies that must adhere to the new regulations outlined in the DMA. This is because WhatsApp qualifies as a gatekeeper service due to its status as a large tech platform with a substantial user base, meeting the DMA's criteria. In the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.8 update, available on the Google Play Store, it has been discovered that WhatsApp is actively working on complying with these new regulations.
Also read: WhatsApp may soon let users disable instant video message feature
For the new third-party chats feature, WhatsApp is expected to add a new section dedicated to the new regulations. As it is in development, the section appears empty and is not accessible to users.
In order to deliver its interoperability service in the European Union, WhatsApp has six months to modify the app to the new European standards. It is still unknown if this feature will eventually be available in countries other than the European Union.
The third-party chat support will likely enable individuals using other platforms to reach out to WhatsApp users, even if they don't have a WhatsApp account.
According to the report, while this broader network is expected to improve communication with people who use different messaging apps, the new feature might also raise concerns about end-to-end encryption when receiving a message from users who don’t use WhatsApp. Also, users might have the choice to opt out in the future, as outlined in Article 7 of the regulations.

Sundar Pichai: Five quotes on 25 years of Google, future of search and AI
When the CEO of Google and Alphabet writes a 2,400 word blog piece, obviously everyone sat up and took notice -- so did I. If you're not interested in reading Sundar Pichai's blog on 25 years of Google, then I invite you to go through the following five quotes that reveal as much about the man himself as it does about Google's current and future aspirations, especially in the realm of AI across all its products.
1) Sundar Pichai on his personal experiences with technology“How I communicated with my dad all those years ago compared with how my son communicates today shows just how much change can happen across generations. Technology that takes us years to adapt to is second nature for our kids.”
This quote reflects Pichai's personal connection with technology and how he has witnessed its evolution firsthand over the past three decades or more. It highlights the rapid pace of technological advancement and how different generations adapt differently to tech.
Also read: Satya Nadella retweets Microsoft President's blueprint for India to govern AI
2) Google's core mission and its impact on the world“Larry and Sergey first wrote down our mission 25 years ago: to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. The idea that a student in rural Indonesia could access the same information as a professor at Stanford was revolutionary, and has changed lives and our world for the better.”
This passage in Pichai's blog highlights Google's commitment to making information universally accessible and underscores the transformative impact this mission has had globally in the past 25 years.
3) Google's willingness to innovate and take risks“Of course, not every question we asked ended up as a success. In any 25-year journey, you take a few lumps, learn the lessons and work to do better. Remember Google Wave?”
Here, Pichai acknowledges some of Google's missteps, writing that not all of Google's endeavors have been successful. Beyond Google Wave, I can think of Google Plus, Knol, Allo, Google Glass, and so many more examples, but who's counting? Pichai writes that it showcases Google's resilience, willingness to learn from mistakes, and constant commitment to innovation.

4) Google's commitment to responsible AI tech implementation“As excited as we are about the potential of AI to benefit people and society, we understand that AI, like any early technology, poses complexities and risks. Our development and use of AI must address these risks, and help to develop the technology responsibly.”
Pichai underscores that Google's ensuring that their technological advancements, especially in AI, are developed with a sense of responsibility and ethics, acknowledging the complex nature of challenges that come with it.
5) Google's future aspirations and the transformative power of technology“Still, there is so much more ahead. Over time, AI will be the biggest technological shift we see in our lifetimes. Why you may have to wait longer to buy the iPhone 15 Pro Max
As the Apple event date comes close, we’re all excited for the new iPhones. But here’s a bummer, the iPhone 15 Pro Max variant is looking at a delay of a few weeks. The iPhone 15 series is expected to be announced on September 12, 2023 during Apple’s Wonderlust event. During this event, it is speculated that Apple will unveil all 4 smartphones in this series. These are: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra. However, users will not be able to get the iPhone 15 Pro Max or Ultra soon.
As per tipster Revegnus, the iPhone 15 Pro Max release date could be delayed by up to approximately 4 weeks due to "severe'' issues with the production of image sensors for the top model.

This has been supported by earlier reports too that revealed that Apple’s supplier, Sony was facing an "insufficient production capacity". This has happened due to an increased demand for the 48 megapixel sensors. If rumours are to be believed, Apple will equip all the iPhones with a 48 megapixel sensor which was earlier only seen on the iPhone 14 Pro models.
Various other sources have mentioned in their reports that the most premium phone on the iPhone 15 lineup could see a delay and come to the markets late due to the production issue. TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had also informed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the last iPhone from the series to go into the production phase.

Well as we await the new iPhones, it’s worth noting that the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro max variants will be a lot heavier on the pockets as compared to the previous iPhone models in the same bracket. This is because of Apple’s possible switch to a titanium chassis . And the iPhone 15 Pro Max variant in particular will also feature a periscope camera that could offer improved optical zoom.
