CD Projekt Red to reveal Cyberpunk 2077 DLC after launch on December 10

Yes, Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed more times than an Air India flight but hope is that December 10 will be the final launch date of the much-awaited action RPG from CD Projekt Red. The game does look to one of the most ambitious gamers ever from all the footage that has been revealed, but we will only know the true depth of the game once we get our hands on it. Another piece of news that has recently been announced is that the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 will be revealed after the launch of the game.

The info was shared by CD Projekt Red President, Adam Kiciński during a recent this-quarter earnings call. We also found out that CD Projekt Red had planned on announcing the DLC before the launch of the game but had to hold off on making the announcement because of the delay. Kiciński said, “We decided to wait for the release to provide gamers with the game and then start talking about future projects," said Kiciński. We'll share our thoughts about [it] next year once we will update our strategy. It will happen in Q1 next year, and that will be after releasing Cyberpunk and that will be the right moment to discuss deeper or all key aspects around future releases.", when commenting about the game’s multiplayer component.

From what we’ve read of the earnings call, CD Projekt intends to stick to the December 10 release date with no further delays rocking the boat. The much -awaited game released on December 10 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Google Stadia.

Heres how you can view a users WhatsApp status without them ever finding out

WhatsApp users know by now that the status on the app is available for 24 hours and then it disappears. The feature was introduced about two years ago and has since been revamped for users to share videos and photos with their friends and contacts. When you do check the WhatsApp status of a particular user, the users is then notified and knows who checked it. But, there is a way for you to check someone's status without them finding out.

You can use the ‘Read Receipt’ feature on WhatsApp to access this option. Essentially what the ‘ Read Receipt’ feature does is show you who’s read your message. When you see a message that has been sent by you with two tick marks, it means that the message has been delivered. When the tick marks turn blue, it means that the message that you’ve sent has been read by the receiver. Now, when you turn the ‘Read Receipts’ feature off, it also has the added benefit of not letting the person whose status you’ve checked out know about it.

Remember that when you do turn off the feature, you will not be able to see who has checked out your status as well. It’s essentially a one-way street, really. So, if you’re going to be a bit sneaky about it, you could ideally turn off the ‘Read Receipt’ feature every time you want to check up on someone’s status. But, honestly, who really has the time for that? Plus, you don't want to seem like a stalker do you? In fact, we've even got article on all the new options and features on WhatsApp that you can check out, right here.

Sony reportedly banning PS5 users selling PlayStation Plus Collection enabled accounts to PS4 users

If you have a brand new PS5, then one of the things worth checking out is the PlayStation Plus Collection. It is a curation of 20 games (10 first-party games and 10 third party games) to give owners of the new console access to some of the best games available on the previous generation consoles.

However, it looks like PS5 users are exploiting the service and “selling” access to their account to PS4 owners. Since all 20 games are backwards compatible, users with a PS4 will be able to access the games. According to VGC, “One user had made £100+ charging over 20 users £5 each to unlock the PS Plus Collection on their PS4 consoles. According to many users on a popular Chinese forum, Sony has issued multiple bans in the region for both PS5 owners selling access to the PS Plus Collection and those PS4 owners who have purchased access to it.”

It looks like the account will be banned for a period of 2 months and “any PS5 consoles involved in the scheme have been permanently blocked from network services”.

PlayStation Plus Collection is an attempt from Sony to take on Xbox Game Pass. While Xbox Game Pass offers first-party games on launch date and has a catalogue of 100+ games, PlayStation Plus Collections is a kickstart for PS5 owners that don't want to spend a lot on games. Sony also has a service called PlayStation Now giving users access to more than 800 games. PlayStation Now isn't available in India and you can learn more about the service here.

Speaking of the PS5, the console is available worldwide and even though India has a price for the console, there is no official launch date yet. We got our hands on the PS5 and you can check out our unboxing and first look of the console here.

PUBG Mobile yet to receive permission from Govt of India to resume operations: report

PUBG Mobile may have revealed its plans for a comeback to India but the developers are yet to receive permission from the government for officially resuming operations, as per the latest report. PUBG Corporation announced a new version of PUBG Mobile for the Indian users on November 12 and since then, fans of the popular battle royale game have waited with bated breath for it to land on the Play Store and App Store.

According to a report by InsideSport that cites sources in the MEITY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology), neither PUBG Corp nor PUBG India has been permitted to resume operations in India, Moreover, the source told InsideSport that the government remains firm on its stance for the ban put on the game since September 2.

The report also quotes another Ministry official who said, “Any banned entity can’t operate just by floating a new company. This even Tik Tok or anyone else can do. They will have to get permissions from MEITY to operate once again in India.”

Recently, PUBG India Pvt Ltd was established as a subsidiary based out of Bangalore, however, the latest report indicates that it is not a substantial development for the ban to be revoked. The company has definitely made headway into the launch of PUBG Mobile India and has already released a dedicated website, Instagram, Facebook handles and a YouTube channel.

PUBG Corp needs to address the privacy and security concerns of the Indian government for the new version of PUBG Mobile to launch in India. To this end, the developer’s parent company Krafton Inc recently inked a deal with Microsoft for using the Azure cloud service to store users' data in an attempt to ensure personal data protection.

PUBG Mobile India was rumoured to release on November 20 in India, however, we were able to confirm that it wasn’t the case and players will have to wait longer. The company has released a teaser for the return of PUBG Mobile in India featuring three popular PUBG Mobile players-- Aaditya ‘Dynamo’ Sawant, Jonathan Amaral and Chetan ‘Kronten’ Chandgude.

PUBG Mobile India is set to release sometime soon and will feature customized content including a virtual simulation training ground, clothed characters from the start, green hit effects and restriction settings on game time to inculcate healthy gaming habits in younger players. YouTube for Android TV gets limited 8K support

YouTube is by far one of the largest repositories of video content on the internet. With the new flagship smartphones supporting 8K recording, it is but natural that we will see more 8K videos on YouTube. However, if you have an 8K TV, then up till now the YouTube app on that TV was showing a maximum resolution of 4K. It looks like that is about to change.

According to Android Police, “Version 2.12.08 now brings limited 8K support to Android TVs on version 10 and above. That feature we know for sure”. So, after the update, if you search for 8K videos, chances are you may be able to see them in all 8K glory, if you are one of the few people that has an 8K TV like the Sony Z8H (review).

The details of YouTube for Android TV 2.12.08 are as follows

Display YouTube Music splash screen Cast Connect support Limited 8K support to Android 10 and up Improved resolution selection Fixed incorrect date and time issues Various other platform improvements

8K TVs may be far and few, but it looks like 8K content is already making an appearance. As we said, the new flagship smartphones can shoot video in 8K, and the new PS5 and Xbox Series X also boast of 8K support (which looks to be inactive as of now but may be updated once streaming platforms start supporting the resolution). It’s only a matter of time before we see streaming dongles like the Fire TV stick and more launch 8K capable versions.

If you are wondering how much data is consumed when streaming YouTube in 8K, Android Authority says that data consumed in 60 minutes of 8K playback from YouTube is about 9.0 to 22.5 GB with an average bitrate of 20-50 Mbps. So, if you have a data limit, you may want to consider upgrading to an unlimited broadband plan with high speeds. You can check out our comparison of the best broadband plans with unlimited data here.

Sony says that the PS5 launch was the biggest in the companys console history

While the PS5 has no official launch date in India, it clearly has not stopped it from being Sony’s biggest console launch yet. While there have been no official sales figures announced, the company claims that it is its “biggest launch ever”. In a tweet posted yesterday, Sony thanked gamers who supported the PS5 launch but also confirmed that demand was outstripping supply and that there are definitely shortages of the console in the market.

We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever. Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers.

— PlayStation (@PlayStation) November 25, 2020

Sony also confirmed that the company will make sure that there will be more inventory in the coming months so that fans of the PS5 can actually get their hands on the console, in time for the holidays. In terms of launch records, the previous one was set by the PS4 when it was announced by Sony that the console had sold 2.1 million units after going on sale on 15 November 2013. Demand is so high scalpers managed to snag about 3500 consoles. Digit even went to known games and console retailers and found out that they were selling the PS5 for Rs 90,000 a pop!

So yes, the hype is real and so are the exorbitant prices. Sony have confirmed that the PS5 will cost Rs 50,000 for the Disc Edition and Rs 40,000 for the Digital Edition. But again, there’s no launch date announced for India yet.

The M1 is the chip powering the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro 13 and the Mac Mini. The chip has received some great reviews for its performance, but the Mac Mini seems to be plagued with some Bluetooth issues.

While we haven’t seen a 14-inch MacBook Pro, one can expect the highest tier 13.3-inch MacBook Pro for 2021 to come with a slight redesign bringing with it a larger display, similar to what we saw when transitioning from the 15-inch MacBook Pro to the 16-inch one.

New iPad and iPad Pro in 2021

While Apple is rumoured to launch a new iPad with a Mini LED display in the first half of 2021, we could see an iPad Pro with an OLED display towards the latter half of next year.

If rumours circulating the internet are to be believed, then the previous-generation iPad Air specifications could find themselves on the 2021 iPad. Whether this will be the one sporting a Mini LED display remains to be seen. You can read more about the 2021 iPad here.

Moving over to the iPad Pro, it looks like the biggest change will be with the display, which will now sport an OLED Panel. According to South Korean news outlet TheElec, the OLED displays on the new iPad Pros will come from Samsung and LG. To counter the effects of burn-in and loss of brightness over time, the emitting layers will be stacked on top of the OLED panel. This will ensure a longer lifespan for the display. How this will translate in the real world is something we will know when we get our hands on it next year.

PUBG Mobile India could be hitting the Google Play Store in the next few days: Report

PUBG Mobile India could be released in an expedited process and is likely to be published instantly on the Google Play Store, according to fresh reports. The India specific version of PUBG Mobile was announced on November 12, two months after the popular battle royale game was banned by the Indian government, citing privacy and security reasons.

According to a post by Gem esports on Instagram, the Google Play Store app review team has been notified of publishing PUBG Mobile India instantly and not to be held up in the review queue. The post cites an anonymous source who also disclosed that the notification was sent out on November 24 which likely means that the game will be hitting the Google Play Store in the next few days.

A post shared by GEM Esports (@gem.esports)

Do note however that PUBG Corp has not confirmed an exact launch date for PUBG Mobile India yet. The post clearly states that through this notification, PUBG wants to escalate the publishing process and get the game going in India.

Previously, there have been reports of users having seen a page on the official website that hinted at the game being released for Android users first. This was also reported by one of the founders of GEM esports. The new report is in line with this as it looks like the developers are prioritizing the Android release over iOS. Nonetheless, it is also very likely that PUBG Mobile India ends up being released for both Android and iOS at the same time.

PUBG Mobile India was rumoured to release on November 20 in India, however, we were able to confirm that it wasn’t the case and players will have to wait longer. PUBG Corp is definitely making headway into the launch of PUBG Mobile India and has released a dedicated website, Instagram, Facebook handles and a YouTube channel.

PUBG Mobile India is set to release sometime soon and will feature customized content including a virtual simulation training ground, clothed characters from the start, green hit effects and restriction settings on game time to inculcate healthy gaming habits in younger players. Here are answers to some common questions about the return of PUBG Mobile in India.

You will be able to play Xbox games on your smart TV without an Xbox console in 2021

The ninth console generation sees the PS5 faceoff against the Xbox Series X/S for space in your living room. But this generation isn’t like previous generations where there is a box below your console and you play games on it. With services like Google Stadia, Amazon Luna and Microsoft’s xCloud, you really don't need a box below the TV or even a state-of-the-art PC to play games. While these streaming apps have been available on Android smartphones or on the PC, in some form or the other, the one place they aren’t present is on the idiot box on your living room wall. While TVs in 2020 bring with them smart assistants and the ability to connect to the internet and stream content, the one app they lack are popular game streaming services. Even to run Stadia, a user needs a Chromecast. It looks like that is about to change.

In an interview with The Verge, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, was asked, “What’s stopping you from saying, okay, Xbox is an app, it has minimum hardware specs, and we’re just going to run it on a smart TV?” To which Phil Spencer responded, “I think you’re going to see that in the next 12 months. I don’t think anything is going to stop us from doing that. I thought what you said about the TV was spot on. What we used to call a TV was a CRT that’s just throwing an image on the back of a piece of glass that I’m looking at. Now, as you said, a TV is really more of a game console stuffed behind a screen that has an app platform and a Bluetooth stack and a streaming capability. Is it really a TV anymore or is it just the form and function of the devices that we used to have around our TV, consolidated into the one big screen that I’m looking at?”

He says that one of the primary things a user uses a game console for is for streaming content from OTT platforms. The PS3 and Xbox 360 were the first consoles to get support for streaming services. Before that gaming consoles were just that - gaming consoles.

While game streaming has been portrayed as a threat to traditional consoles, in the interview Phil Spencer goes on to say, “I just push back a little bit on — this is not exactly what you said — that when streaming comes, all the consoles go away, or all my local devices that play video games go away. I’m not quite as sold on that. I think we just have to be nimble and watching what players want”.

“Streaming” your games locally is nothing new. Both Xbox and PlayStation let you stream your game to a smartphone, provided you are on the same Wi-Fi connection. So, if someone wants to watch the TV, you can continue gaming from your console on your smart device. With the growth in bandwidth and stable internet connections, one can consider streaming as an additional option to the hardware one has at home. In the PC space, there are many options like GeForce Now and Sony’s own PlayStation Now, giving users the option to stream and download games. With Game Pass available on a smart TV via an app, the barrier for entry will be lowered, especially for the price-conscious audience looking to dip their toes in console games.

Even on the Nintendo Switch, we have seen Control Ultimate Edition which is streamed rather than using the power of the console.

While streaming may be the future, devices like the Nintendo Switch have proven that people like to carry an uninterrupted console gaming experience with them on the go. The demand for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S has also proven that the hardware sitting under your TV playing games isn't going away anytime soon.

PUBG Mobile India to be available on Android smartphones before iPhones: Report

PUBG Mobile India is set to launch in India soon and fresh rumours indicate that the popular battle royale title will be available for Android users first before eventually being released for iOS users. A special version of the game in line with the Indian audience is being prepared for launch in India after the game was banned by the Indian government over security and privacy concerns on September 2.

According to several reports online and users who claim to have seen a premature listing on the PUBG Mobile India website, the upcoming game could be released for Android users at first. Additionally, the iOS version of PUBG Mobile India will be available on iOS “a few days later” and is likely to be listed on Apple App Store.

That being said, either of the links is not functioning indicating that the website is being developed by PUBG Corp and will go live with more details soon. There is no official release date for the PS5 in India but you can grab one for Rs 90,000

While the PS5 has an official price in India, the launch date seems like a distant dream. While Sony India may have their lips sealed as far as a release date is concerned, the grey market is selling the PS5 in India for an exorbitant price!

Digit visited known games and console retailer in Pune to inquire about the PS5. On the evening of the 24th of November, the retailer told Digit that he can arrange for the console for Rs 90,000. When we told him that the official India price of the Disc Edition console was Rs 50,000 and Rs 40,000 for the digital one, he said that the unit he was selling was an imported one and that the console isn't officially available in India.

We tried to haggle with him to bring the price down to 80k or lower, to which he said we should come back in a couple of weeks and the price of the console would be thereabout. He says that the console should be closer to its India official retail price by January as that's when it is “expected to launch officially”. This isn't too far from what we are speculating as the PS4 launched internationally in November 2013 and in India in the first quarter of 2014.

When asked if there was a demand for the console at such an inflated price, he said that he has sold some consoles, but didn't give a definitive number. The inflated price of the console is the same that has been reported by others in India.

The PS5 has been sold out worldwide. In the UK, Amazon delivery agents have been stealing PS5 and customers have been getting random objects instead of the gaming console. You can learn more about it here. In the UK, PS5 scalpers manage to snag almost 3,500 Units and are selling them for more than twice the price of the console. You can learn more about it here.

Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G render revealed ahead of launch

Redmi is launching the Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro 5G variants and the biggest difference from the existing Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro, and Note 9 Pro Max is the fact that the new smartphones sport 5G support. It is also speculated that the new Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will sport the new Samsung HM2 108MP sensor.

The design of the upcoming smartphone was shared by Redmi’s General Manager Lu Weibing. The render of the smartphone shared by Weibing shows the smartphone with a gradient finish with a circular housing for the quad-camera setup. This is the render of the Note 9 Pro and not the Note 9. The Note 9 is expected to house a triple camera instead of a quad-camera setup.

One of the biggest changes for the 5G phones will be the chipset the smartphones will house. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is expected to sport a Snapdragon 750G SoC while the Note 9 is expected to have the MediaTek Dimensity 800U. The smartphones are also expected to sport higher refresh rate displays.

Redmi Note 9 5G speculated specs

It is suggested that the Redmi Note 9 5G will sport a 6.53-inch display and could be available in three RAM options - 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM with three corresponding storage options - 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is expected to house a 6.67-inch screen with 6GB, 8GB and 12GB RAM options along with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is expected to house a 4,720mAh battery.

As mentioned above, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G is expected to sport a Snapdragon 750G SoC while the Note 9 is expected to have the MediaTek Dimensity 800U.

PS5 scalpers in the UK manage to snag almost 3,500 units

The launch of the new generation of consoles has been, ermmm… less than ideal (to put it mildly). Both Microsoft and Sony’s new consoles are pretty much ‘out of stock’ everywhere, but it seems like the latter has more bad luck. Following reports that Amazon’s delivery executives were stealing the new PlayStation 5 in the UK, a new report suggests that scalpers have managed to snag 3,500 units of the new console.

According to a post by Business Insider, reseller groups Discord with thousands of members organized to buy as many consoles as possible during launch. Unlike previous console launches, the launch of the Sony PS5 was online-only, as such, these groups used bots to snag up as many consoles as possible. The report mentions one such group called CrepChiefNotify, which told the publication that it managed to collect 2,472 PS5 consoles across all of its members. On top of that, they claim to have ‘just under 1,000” PS5 pre-orders from September.

For those who don’t know, scalpers are described as those individuals who tend to make bulk purchases of highly anticipated items with the intention of making it unavailable for many users. They then sell the same on unofficial channels at highly inflated prices. With the sheer number of hardware launching this year, scalpers have been quite busy this year. Not only have they been selling the next generation of consoles at inflated prices, but they also got their hands on Nvidia’s new 3000-series graphics cards. The only way for companies to thwart scalpers is by ensuring that there are more than enough units available at launch.

Meanwhile in India, we still have no clue when the PS5 will be launched. As such, scalpers are having a field day with PS5 units being sold for over a lakh. To recall, the PS5 is priced at Rs 49,990, while the Digital Edition is priced at Rs 39,990. However, there is a small silver lining here as hopefully, Sony would have ironed out all the bugs that have been affecting the initial PS5 units.

India smartphone exports estimated to cross 15 Billion in 2020: report

The Make in India initiative along with its incentives has led to a lot of smartphone makers assembling their devices in India. Apple has been making its iPhones in India including the iPhone SE (first generation), iPhone 6S, iPhone 7, iPhone XR, iPhone 11 and the second-generation iPhone SE as well. Apple is expected to make its latest iPhone 12 in India as well by 2021.

A report by TechArc, pegs “the total exports of smartphones to cross $1.5 billion by value. This would be over 98% of the total mobile phones exported out of India”. The report has some interesting insights. According to the report, a “total of 12.8 million mobile phones were exported from India from January to September 2020. Of this, there were 10.9 million smartphones”.

The ongoing pandemic has affected the export of phones. The volume of exports dropped to 1.2 million in the April-June quarter from 7.4 million in the January-March period. According to the report, the July-September quarter saw exports of 4.2 million units. This has hinted at a recovery in exports as the country started lifting the lockdown and people started going back to work and smartphone makers resumed production.

As far as brands are concerned, Samsung leads the exports with 11.6 million units of which 9.6 million units were smartphones while Xiaomi exported 0.6 million units. Lava exported 0.2 million smartphones.  Other brands rounding off the top 5 in exports are Vivo and OnePlus.

Lava is the only Indian brand of the top 5 when it comes to exports. With Micromax launching its new made in India smartphones, it will be interesting to see if it starts exporting these devices to other countries as well.

According to the report, 7 brands are exporting mobile phones from India to the US, 21 brands are exporting mobiles from India. 17 brands are exporting Smartphones.

To put things into perspective, India is exporting made in India phones to 24 countries. According to Faisal Kawoosa, Founder & Chief Analyst, techARC, “Today, India is exporting to 24 countries, some of which are further re-exporting, like UAE, to other markets making Indian made phones available to millions of users."

Calling Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most anticipated games of the year would be an understatement. Considering the scope and scale of the game, people have taken time off from work to spend time in the futuristic neon lights augments filled Night City. but how much time will it take to see everything the game has to offer and see the credits roll? Well, CD Project Red QA Lead, Lukasz Babiel took to Twitter to share that he has spent 175 hours in the game and the credits haven’t rolled in yet. Granted, he is playing on the highest difficulty and taking his time, seeing everything the game has to offer. So, it isn't clear if someone can run through the campaign and some side content in the same amount of time.

This isn't the first time we have seen a game with the ability to give players hundreds of hours' worth of exploration and content. Games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and even CDPR’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt all have the potential to take more than 100 hours to run through if you want to see everything the world has to offer.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first teased back in 2013, so it’s safe to say that diehard fans have been waiting a long time to get their hands on the game. The game was originally set to release on April 16, 2020, and was subsequently delayed to November 19, 2020, and delayed yet again to December 10. With less than 15 days to go for the launch of the game, gamers are patiently waiting and hoping the game doesn’t get delayed yet again.

Cyberpunk 2077 will release on nine platforms at launch which is a big deal. This includes the PS4 (PS4 Pro as well), Xbox One (One S and One X), PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PC and Stadia. Those that purchase the game for the PS4 and Xbox One will get a free upgrade to the next-gen console as well.
